2025 Public Event FAQs

2025 Public Event FAQs

Do I need to book tickets for events?

Some of our events have limited spaces so require bookings. These events are listed as ‘Booking essential’ and are colour-coded green in our online events listing. Click on the button and this will take you through to the correct page to book your tickets.

We also have many drop-in events where there is no booking required. These events are listed as ‘Drop-in’ and are colour-coded orange in our online events listing.

Do I need to book tickets just for children or for everyone attending?

Please book tickets for everyone who will be attending the activity – children and adults. The capacity for events is based on the room capacity so when we have 30 tickets available that is because there is only capacity for 30 people in the room.

For example if there are four children and three adults in your party, please book seven tickets.

You don’t need to book tickets for children under 2.

The event I want to go to is fully-booked, what should I do?

We will try to update listings so it is clear when events are fully booked.

We will be operating a waiting list system on our EventBrite bookings, so please join this and we will contact you if tickets become available.

I can't make the event anymore, what should I do?

Please cancel your booking through EventBrite. If you can’t find the right information, please contact us ([email protected]) and we will cancel your tickets for you.

Who organises the Festival?

The Nottinghamshire Festival of Science and Curiosity is run by Nottingham-based education Ignite! in partnership with lots of organisations across the county. You can find a list of our partners on our 2025 Partners Page.

I have a concern or complaint about something that happened as part of the Festival, what should I do?

The Festival operated under Ignite’s Safeguarding Policy which can be read online. All contributors and volunteers have been briefed to follow this policy.

In the first instance, please refer a concern or complaint to the venue manager at your event as they are best-placed to respond immediately. This may be a member of the Ignite! team or staff from the venue hosting the event.

You can also refer concerns or complaints to the Ignite! team by email – [email protected].

I attended the Festival and now I want to get involved in future events, what should I do?

Great news! Drop us an email ([email protected]) and we can discuss opportunities to work together.

Below is the annual timeline for Festival planning.
