Camp Querdy

Join host of the Querdy podcast & professional nerd Matt Young, as he and his troop of talented nerds put a rainbow flourish on the wonders of science, research and sci-fi shenanigans. Featuring giggles from super smart funny people, Shivani Dave and Colman O’Cathail, and the dazzling stylings of nerdlesque wonders Dr Jiggs Bowson and Romeo De La Cruz. Plus, you might get a chance to prove your nerd credentials and win prizes in a game show that’s like many others you’ve seen, but A LOT more queer and niche.

With sequins, lip syncing and prizes, is there really any better place to be during LGBT+ History Month AND on a Tuesday evening? No. We didn’t think so.

Doors open at 6.30 pm.

This show has a suggested age of 16+.

Line Up / Nerds of Honour

“Shivani is a physicist turned journalist, she has to say (for legal reasons) the opinions stated in her jokes are not that of her employer. When she isn’t reading the news or making jokes about the state of the world she’s either riding a skateboard or trying to hit on your mum… and also… probably your dad”

“Final year PhD student coping with anxiety and existential dread. Badger boy by day. Badger boy by night too. Dear God what have I done with my life…”

“Dr Jiggs Bowson is the most glamorous scientist in Britain [citation needed], residing somewhere between the worlds of scientific research, vintage glamour and end-of-the-pier naughtiness, a.k.a. Brighton! Proudly once described as ‘A bit much’ by some anonymous man in the audience.” (Headshot by Ed Moore)

“This energetic, enigmatic humxn whose scintillating performances mash-up their craft of Dance, Drag & Boylesque to produce the twistxd concoction of their majestic fetish. Soft by nature but hardened by society…but if you’re lucky you might just experience the comedic side of De La Cruz
