Teacher CPD – Science Capital with Jane Banham
30 September, 2021 | 4:45 pm - 5:45 pm
Free

The Curiosity Project is the Nottingham Festival of Science and Curiosity schools programme, encouraging pupils to be curious and ask questions. Linking them with active researchers they work together to create real and authentic investigations into their questions. We want to support teachers across Nottinghamshire to embed curiosity-led learning in the classroom and provide opportunities for pupils to collaborate with scientists.
We are working with Derbyshire and Nottinghamshire SLP to run 3 CPD sessions for teachers:
1. Science Capital – Thurs 30 September, 3.45 – 4.45pm
We will explore the concept of science capital; what it is and how it can inform curriculum planning. Delivered by Jane Banham, STEM Learning.
2. Curiosity & Questions – Tues 26 October, 3.45 – 4.45pm
We will explore techniques for supporting curiosity in the classroom. Delivered by Megan Shore, Nottingham Festival of Science and Curiosity.
3. External Partners & Next Steps – Thurs 11 November, 3.45 -4.45pm
We will explore working with external organisations, and more about taking part in the Curiosity Project. Delivered by Rick Hall, Ignite!.
The sessions will take place virtually via Zoom. Please do still sign up if you’re not able to make all the sessions. All attendees will receive a printed copy of the Curiosity Project Guide for Teachers.
