The programme for the 7th annual Festival of Science and Curiosity is now live! Our programme is a little different this year, with many events requiring pre-booking, so register early to avoid disappointment!
Here are our best three picks:
Community Library Workshops
This year we’re taking the festival out to Mansfield Library (Sat 12th), Retford Library (Mon 14th), Newark Library (Mon 14th), Bulwell Library (Mon 14th), Kirkby Library (Tue 15th), Arnold Library (Tue 15th), Bilborough Library (Tue 15th), Worksop Library (Wed 16th) and St Ann’s Library (Wed 16th). We’ll be running make-your-own rocketcar workshops, for families to work together to design, create and launch the most aerodynamic rocket.
The Garden of Just Because
We’re excited to finally show the work produced by our 2020/21 Artist in Residence Roma Patel of Makers of Imaginary Worlds. Roma’s installation will be at Wollaton Hall (Sat 12th) and Broadway (Mon 14th – Sat 19th), where families will have the opportunity to explore the wonderful world of fungus and mycelium and create their own clay mushrooms.
The Curiosity Show
The first week of the festival we’ll be running a series of hour-long television programmes live on Notts TV. We’ll be joined by different guests each day, featuring the stories of researchers, young and old, across our region, and doing science activities together.
Of course there’s lots of other great events to get booked onto, including brilliant workshops, shows and installations programmed by partners in the festival network. It’s definitely worth having a good look around the events listing – there really is something for everyone!
Celebrate 7 years of science and curiosity with us at this year’s festival. We’re very excited to share with you a programme absolutely brimming with activities and providing a wide range of different areas of science right across Nottinghamshire. We hope to not only engage and inspire but empower the people of Nottinghamshire to express their curiosity, seeing science in a new light and take part in finding out the answers!
What are you curious about? Come along and find out!
