An annual weeklong festival celebrating all things scientific and curiosity-inspiring.
Preparations now for the Nottingham Festival of Science and Curiosity 2022 are well and truly underway. Celebrating seven years, we are really excited to be bringing back a festival that draws science out of the labs and into our everyday lives and one making a strong resurgence back out into spaces across the county.
We promise a festival of unforgettable fun and one that allows you to unleash your curiosity, creativity and ask why and how and hopefully even exclaim wow. It will be a true celebration of science, discovery and learning – a festival to remember! We’re really looking forward to bringing you a fantastic range of events and activities where you’ll be able to explore curiosity all across Nottinghamshire. Our only message? There is something for everyone.
This year the festival will see a collaboration of a range of organisations and venues to really bring back the spark for science across the county.
Here’s what we’re especially excited to show you:
The Curiosity Show
Monday 7 February 2022 – Friday 11 February 2022 Notts TV, 4-5pm
A series of 5 hour-long children’s tv shows (reinvented from last year’s Wollaton Watch) airing live. Exploring science and all things curious across Nottinghamshire and featuring live science demonstrations, interviews and fun try-at-home activities for the whole family.
The Festival Magazine
Print (free) Available as a pdf on the FOSAC website
Following its success from last year’s virtual festival the new and improved festival magazine is making a comeback sporting a brand new look, fascinating content and range of fun interactive activities.
Free In-Person Bookable Events Across The County
Fans of the festival may remember in previous years, many of the festival events welcomed hundreds of participants – taking over spaces like Broadmarsh, Central Library and the Victoria Centre Market. This year we’ve adapted the programme to be more workshop based, so participants will be able to book slots for specific events, helping us to manage numbers. Plans are coming together for a really wide range of hands-on activities led, so there’ll be something for everyone and lots of opportunities for curious minds to ask questions!
Details will be added shortly but in the meantime you can stay updated by following us on our social media channels Instagram, Facebook and Twitter @NottsFOSAC
